Hello! Thank you for visiting our website. My name is Frances Rigdon and I am beginning my third year teaching third grade at Smokey Mountain Elementary School in Whittier, NC. I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I am also fully licensed to teach in North Carolina. I completed a yearlong student teaching internship in third grade with Mrs. Linda Brogden at South Macon Elementary School in Franklin, NC.
I am a teacher because I strongly believe that children are our future. I believe that each and every child is able to make a difference in the world and are able to reach success. I want to be able to help students realize their full potential and to reach for their dreams.
I enjoy spending time outdoors running, cycling, and hiking. One of my favorite things to do is go tubing down the Deep Creek river in Bryson City, NC. I also enjoy scrapbooking, shopping,spending time with my family, and eating ice-cream!
